Blogging from Zambia

Zambia

Bread for the World activist Elaine VanCleave is part of a 15-member delegation from Independent Presbyterian Church (IPC) in Birmingham, Ala., traveling to Zambia on Aug. 5-18.

The delegation will include several medical professionals who will work at a local hospital and lab (with a particular emphasis on HIV/AIDS).

Non-medical people in the delegation (including Elaine) will work with other community projects.  Click this link to read more about the trip.

Elaine has set up a blog to relate her experiences in Zambia.  Check it frequently for updates over the next several days.

IPC is one of the churches in Alabama that held an Offering of Letters this year.  So in a sense, this mission trip is an extension of the church's commitment to learn about global poverty.
